Effective immediately, fully vaccinated federal employees, fully vaccinated onsite contractors, and fully vaccinated visitors to federal facilities are no longer required to wear face masks or physically distance on federal properties.
These changes are consistent with the new Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance, Executive Order 13991, and OMB memorandum M-21-15.
To clarify what this means for individuals:
- If you are fully vaccinated AND at least two weeks past your final dose, you no longer are required to wear a face mask or physically distance at Stennis Space Center (SSC).
- If you are not fully vaccinated AND at least two weeks past your final dose, continue to wear a mask and physically distance while at SSC.
We are relying on the honor and personal responsibility of employees and visitors as to their vaccination status.
These are the only changes to federal workplace COVID-19 safety guidance. Workplace occupancy limits and telework for most NASA personnel remain in place.
Tenant agencies and companies may have their own guidance related to masks, physical distancing, and teleworking; therefore, employees are encouraged to consult with their supervisor and refer to their specific agency and/or company guidelines and policies.
The Stennis Safe at Work Protocol and other messaging will be updated to reflect these changes.
